The Process
Sarah Drake Design offers elegant, unique invitations that capture the essence of your event. We use only the finest papers and printers to ensure that each printed piece meets our own strict standards of quality.

Begin…
… with a consultation, either in our Chicago studio or over the phone. Here we will discuss the look you desire for your invitation suite. You are welcome to personalize a design from our signature collection or we will create a custom design that captures the feel of your event. Sarah Drake Design offers a full range of paper products to complement your event from Save the Dates to Thank You cards. Printing method will be discussed; we offer letterpress (debossed), engraved (raised) and offset (flat).

Quotation
A quote will be sent to you with the details of your desired printed pieces. Here we will list each of the pieces we will be designing and printing for you, along with their price and a schedule of delivery. Delivery and printing time vary depending on the printing method chosen and complexity of your suite.

Deposit, Wording
A 50% non-refundable deposit starts the designing process. This can be paid with a personal check or credit card. Please provide the wording for your invitation suite via email at this time. We can help with the proper wording etiquette if desired.

Proofs
Proofs will be provided via email within five days of receipt of your deposit and wording. Up to 3 rounds of proofs are included in pricing. There will be a $50 charge for each proof thereafter. You will carefully review the proofs, looking for any spelling errors or typos. When you are happy with the finished product, we will provide a final proof for you to sign and fax back to us. Nothing will print without your final, signed approval.

Printing
At this point, we provide your completed artwork to one of our printers. We will proof the pieces on press to ensure that your stationery is printed to your specifications and that all colors are achieved.

Delivery
The completed stationery suite will be delivered according to the date determined in your contract, usually 3-4 weeks from the date of final approval. We do offer assembly and addressing of envelopes for an additional fee, but unless specified, your invitations will arrive unassembled.
