Well, this post is a little late getting up! Yesterday was my first day without my interns, who have sadly completed their summer fling with me. So, I was feeling a little disconnected here in the studio yesterday, and couldn't quite get motivated to blog! Today, though, I concentrated on getting some personalized hankies out the door for a few orders. Along with a press check, and thank you note completion for our January bride and groom. I thought you might like to see a little about what goes in to the personalized linens. I mean, these little guys go through quite a few stages to get personalized and to you. After you place your order, we work via email with you to provide a proof of the design and color that the thread will be embroidered in. If we don't have any in stock, we'll have our supplier ship a few from New York, via Belgium. We take printouts of your design to our Lakeview embroiderer, along with the hankies. We match the thread color from our site to their offerings, which sometimes can be a daunting task- just look at all those greens!
When the embroidery is complete, they come back looking like this:
So, we wash and iron them, to get all the wrinkles out. See our post on linen care for laundering tips.
Then, a little tag is sewn in.
We place in a protective sleeve, and then we sadly say goodbye!
I'm loving the Mother of the Groom and Bride as a sweet wedding day gift!
So pretty!
